A combination of Hypnosis and therapy which enables a deep state of relaxation and awareness. Through Hypnotherapy the conscious mind is bypassed and the subconscious mind is activated. The therapy is administered by communication positive suggestions creating a profound shift, this removes blocks in people's lives that were previously difficult to eliminate ensuring rapid, powerful, safe and positive long lasting and beneficial changes.
Hypnosis was derived from the Greek work 'hypnos' meaning sleep. This term is incorrect in the proper practice of Hypnotherapy. It is better understood that individuals induced into the hypnotic state display trance-like behaviour. Many times this has been portrayed negatively in science fiction movies, cartoons and stage hypnosis . They portay individuals in the hypnotic state as being controlled by a practitioner and made to do anything they want without the individual's permission.
In reality, leading an individual into a trace-like state is merely a condition that enables access to a subconscious 'switching system' activating sensations, behaviours and healing and a release of deeply ingrained bad habits and patters through the client's own suggestions. Clients are able to come out of the trace-like state whenever they like, but simply don't due to very quickly benefiting from a relaxed and calm state of mind and awareness. This is why Hypnotherapy is now an established form of therapuetic healing, to change habits, behaviour and physiology giving power back to the client, Hypnotherapy is now part of the activities of people participating in successful programs such as Smoking Cessation, Weight Management and Hypno-birthing to name a few.

Understanding Hypnotherapy
Change can be difficult especially when you are consciously trying to make those changes. Ever considered trying to clear old unwanted patterns and bad habits subconsciously?
Imagine your life in pictures like photographic images. It could be a picture memory of you at an event enjoying your favourite band, a wonderful dinner at a beautiful restaurant with your partner or you could just simply be sitting in your most comfortable chair reading a book. Your mind takes these images and the emotions associated with them in that moment and stores them in your right brain subconscious even those images and emotions you dont want.
Perhaps in your life you've had past trauma where those images come back to haunt you making it very difficult for you to control your emotions, perhaps sitting out on the porch with your smoke and coffee for years is now so second nature to you that no matter how hard you try you cant seem to quit, or pehaps you've sat through years of pain feeling like it will never seize. Life doesn't have to be that way, this is where Hypnotherapy can help.
Hypnotherapy is a holistic technique that has been used for centuries. The earliest Hypnotherapy was used by Ancient Egyptians to treat individuals in mind, body and spirit in their dream temples, as recognised in a third century CE Papyrus discovered in the 19th century in Thebes.
In current times, in the 18th century an Austrian doctor names Franz Anton Mesmer and British surgeons Easdaile and Braid brought Hypnosis to medicine and dentistry. American Milton Erickson introduced it to psychology during the last century. Since then, Hypnotherapy has been very popular utilised for it's amazing health benefits and results and it is quite calming and relaxing.
To give an example; In a recent study conducted by The American Health Magazine, statistics showed that there was a 93% recovery rate of individuals undergoing Hypnotherapy in just 6 sessions and an average of 3 sessions, juxtaposed against individuals undergoing Psychoanalysis which had a recovery rate of 38% after 600 sessions and 72% recovery rate for individuals after 22 Behavioural Therapy sessions.
Hypnotherapy utilises your subconscious. Your subconscious is a storehouse of information, it is your right brain; your intuition, creativity and imagination. It does not measure time, it doesn't distinguish between imagination and reality, it just is and it remembers everything. Your right brain controls all your processes at once, your nervous system, your breathing rate all while growing your hair and fingernails and it can also release unwanted bad habits and patterns and develop a new, more positive pathway creating a fast, profound, safe and benefitial long lasting change.
Hypnotherapy does not clear your memory it just releases the negative pattern and emotion associated to it, you still remember your past and the lessons that you've learnt along the way. Also remember you are not bound by the Hypnotherapist, you are able to come out of the trance whenever you like. The best way to understand Hypnotherapy is to simply try it, there is nothing to lose but those negative patterns.
